We have a few important updates as SimHaven continues to grow and move through its early testing period.
Our New Website Address
The official SimHaven website has moved from simhavenserver.com to:
playsimhaven.com
The new domain is shorter, easier to remember, and a better fit for SimHaven. Please update any bookmarks or saved links you may have.
Launcher 1.0.6 Requires a Manual Update
Anyone currently using SimHaven Launcher version 1.0.5 will need to manually download and install version 1.0.6.
Because the launcher’s update system previously used the old domain, version 1.0.5 cannot automatically retrieve this update. After installing version 1.0.6, future launcher updates should download automatically as usual.
The latest version can be downloaded from playsimhaven.com.
The Founder Tag Returns
In the original The Sims Online, the Founder title was given to players who participated during beta testing. It meant that the player had been there early and helped shape the game before its official launch.
We are continuing that tradition in SimHaven.
For a limited time, players who register and actively help during SimHaven’s testing period may receive the Founder tag in game. This may include testing features, reporting bugs, offering useful feedback, creating lots, helping other players, or spreading the word about SimHaven.
The Founder tag is not simply a decorative title. It recognizes the players who were here during the early days and helped SimHaven become what it will eventually be.
Like the original title, it will only be available during this early testing period.
Temporary §10,000 Starting Funds
For a very limited time, newly created Sims will begin with §10,000.
This temporary increase is intended to help early players establish the lots Plumbrook needs, including skill lots, money lots, service lots, stores, and other community spaces.
Once the city is more established, the normal starting amount will be restored. Creating multiple accounts simply to collect additional starting funds is not permitted, and accounts or funds created for that purpose may be removed.
Temporary Always-Open Community Lots
Thanks to Gurra and Tori Sim for suggesting this idea.
For now, the SimHaven Welcome Center and The Bear Necessities store have been configured so players can enter them even when their owners are offline.
This is a temporary measure to make sure new players have access to a Welcome Lot and a store while Plumbrook is still being established. The arrangement will remain in place until other players open suitable Welcome and retail lots of their own.
These lots will not appear directly on the city map, so players will need to use the lot search to find them.
Both lots have been tested and confirmed to be working.
Thank you to everyone who has already joined, tested the game, reported problems, created lots, welcomed new players, and helped spread the word about SimHaven.
