Today’s update focuses on making SimHaven easier to install on Linux and fixing a frustrating crash while browsing Buy Mode.
Buy Mode Crash Fix
We’ve addressed an issue that could cause the game to crash when browsing certain Buy Mode pages, including the second page of Entertainment items.
When an object’s catalog picture couldn’t load, the client could encounter an error instead of displaying the item. The client now generates a thumbnail when needed, allowing you to keep browsing.
Improved Linux Installation
Launcher 1.0.9 improves Mono Runtime installation on Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04.
Missing Mono certificates could previously prevent the game from connecting—even when the servers were online and your internet connection was working normally.
The launcher now checks the secure connection during Mono installation and handles the necessary certificate setup. Clear, Ubuntu-specific prompts explain what’s needed and why administrator approval may be requested. Certificate verification remains enabled throughout.
Installation and login have been successfully tested on both Ubuntu versions, including a clean Ubuntu 24.04 installation.
How to Update
- Game client: Accept the in-game update when prompted.
- Launcher: Download version 1.0.9 from our Download page.
Windows, macOS, and Linux launchers now share version 1.0.9, though the launcher’s functional changes in this release focus on Linux setup.
A Huge Thank You to Juanlu ❤️
A huge thank you to Juanlu on Discord for bringing this issue to my attention over a week ago, and for being patient while I worked on getting a fix out.
The update took a little longer than I’d hoped because I needed some time away for medical reasons and a few days of rest. Sometimes real-life motives need refilling too! 😄
Thank you, Juanlu—and everyone who helped test and waited patiently. I really appreciate your support.
